Compression runs on your Mac. A workflow can stop at a local save, or add an optional upload that sends only the finished file to a bucket you already own.
Fast batch compression for PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, and AVIF, with presets that balance speed, output format, and file size.
Save resize, compression level, format, output mode, and destination steps as repeatable workflows, then run them directly from the menu bar.
TinyOwl is not an image host. An upload step is optional and uses your credentials to put the finished file in your R2, S3, OSS, COS, MinIO, or other S3-compatible bucket.
SUPPORTED UPLOAD TARGETS
Originals stay on the Mac unless you add an upload step. That step sends only the finished output to the provider you configured—not to TinyOwl’s servers.

TinyOwl requires macOS 12 Monterey or later and a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or newer). Intel Macs are not currently supported.
Yes. Resize and compression run on your Mac. A compress-only workflow never needs a network connection for the image files themselves.
TinyOwl supports PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, and AVIF input, with export presets for original format, JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, and AVIF.
Workflows combine repeatable steps such as resize, compression, save-as behavior, and optional upload targets into one run.
No. After configuring a workflow, drag images toward the TinyOwl menu bar icon to run it. You can also select images in Finder and choose Open With → TinyOwl to add them directly to the processing list.
No. TinyOwl does not host your images. Compression stays local. If a workflow includes an upload step, only the finished output is sent to the R2, S3, OSS, COS, MinIO, or other bucket you configured with your own credentials.
It depends on the preset and the image. Balanced Q75 while keeping the original format is a conservative starting point. Stronger levels or a change to WebP or AVIF can shrink files more, with a visible tradeoff that varies by screenshot or photo. Use Save as on a few representative files before overwriting or uploading a batch.
One TinyOwl license is a one-time purchase with lifetime updates, including major versions, and activation on up to 2 Macs.
No. TinyOwl is a one-time license, not a subscription. Compression runs on your Mac, and optional uploads go to a bucket you already have, so there is no per-user hosting cost to cover with a monthly fee. The early-bird price is $9, and the regular price is $15.
