Images Are Not Added

TinyOwl supports PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, BMP, TIF/TIFF, and AVIF. Folders, documents, and other file formats are ignored.

If a supported image still does not appear:

1. Click Choose Images in the main window.
2. Confirm that the file is still in an accessible location and has not been moved or deleted.
3. Try Open With -> TinyOwl from Finder.

An Output Folder or Overwrite Approval Is Required

A Save as preset needs a writable output folder. If one has not been set, TinyOwl asks you to choose a folder before running. The same preset can reuse that folder in later tasks.

Overwrite original replaces the source image, so TinyOwl asks for approval before processing. Use a save-as preset when you do not want overwrite confirmation, and do not use an untested overwrite workflow on important originals.

The Upload Provider Needs Setup or Upload Fails

When the active workflow contains an upload step but its provider is missing or incomplete, you can:

• Choose Compress Only to create the local output and skip upload for this run.
• Choose Configure Upload to open upload-provider settings.
• Cancel the task and switch to a workflow without an upload step.

If the provider is configured but upload still fails, run Test Connection again under Upload Providers. Check the bucket, region, endpoint, Access Key ID, Secret Access Key, and write permissions. For provider-specific setup guides, see Cloudflare R2 setup.

If upload succeeds but Copy Link is unavailable, the provider usually has no Public Base URL. Uploading an object does not automatically make it publicly addressable.

Why Center Crop Needs Confirmation

A fixed-aspect-ratio resize preset can remove content near image edges. TinyOwl first shows how many images are affected. Choose Continue with Crop to run, or cancel and review the resize preset when unsure.

Select Don’t Remind Me Again only when you are confident that this workflow should keep cropping automatically.

The Trial Ended or the Batch Is Limited

After the trial ends or while TinyOwl is unactivated, each run is limited to the free image count shown in the app. Reduce the batch to continue, or open License and Updates to activate a license. A menu bar run shows View License instead of silently dropping images.

Activation or refresh failures are commonly caused by the network, an incomplete license key, or temporary license-service availability. Review the current status and last check under General Settings and License.

Another Task Is Running

TinyOwl runs one batch at a time. If the main window or menu bar is already processing images, a second drop asks you to try again later. Wait for the current task to finish, then submit the next batch.

Closing the menu bar panel or main window does not cancel an active task.

A Task Partially or Completely Fails

The menu bar panel shows only the latest task summary. When it reports failed files, click Open List to inspect the individual error for each image in the main window.

Keep any files that succeeded, then check whether each failed source still exists, the output folder is writable, disk space is available, and the upload connection works. After correcting the issue, add only the failed images again.
